Welcome to Douglas United Football Club.
This year we are happy to announce the introduction of two new intitatives: 'Squirts Squad' training for 3-5 year olds and Small Sided Games for players in the U6, U7 & U8 age groups.
The Small Sided Games concept has been developed by Football Federation Australia to suitably address the needs of young players. The games focus on enjoyment and freedom of expression with limited emphasis on coaching, particularly in the formative years of the player’s development. Participants play on smaller fields with smaller teams, benefiting children by making the game more enjoyable and allowing greater participation.
DUFC has also successfully applied for recognition as a Management Centre, allowing these age groups to train and play weekend games at Cassowary Park.
Teams playing for DUFC at Endeavour Park in Cairns for the 2008 season are U10’s, (non-competitive) and U13’s (competitive).
We look forward to a great season with last years U12’s defending their premiership title in this years U13’s team. |
